KERATOMETER READINGS The keratometer readings (central corneal curvature) are important to determine: -the amount of corneal toricity -if a rigid lens will correct the astigmatic error or if there will be any residual astigmatism. -the base curve of the first diagnostic lens (especially rigid lenses) -if there is any induced change in the corneal curvature due to the wearing of the contact lenses (for comparison at later visits)
